Terminal-1 of Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku
The terminal of this airport is often called one of the most beautiful in the world – a place worth visiting the city for alone. It has repeatedly been recognized as the best in the post-Soviet region and is frequently compared to a contemporary art object. This is Terminal 1 of Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
Tashkent → Baku from 1.65 million UZS
Terminal-1 was put into operation in 2014.
Terminal area: 65,000 m².
Annual capacity: up to 6 million passengers.
Distance from city center: approx. 25 km.

In 2024, the airport once again became the winner of the prestigious Skytrax World Airport Awards, receiving the title of Best Airport in Central Asia and the CIS.

In 2018, it was awarded the 5-Star Regional Airport rating by Skytrax, confirming its exceptional service quality and infrastructure.

Heydar Aliyev International Airport is also the winner of the A+Award in the category Typology / Transport: Airports.

Terminal-1 features a distinctive trefoil shape and a semi-transparent roof, creating a light and airy architectural appearance.

On the third floor of the departures area, futuristic wooden “cocoons” and semi-spherical structures house cafés and retail spaces, forming one of the terminal’s most iconic interiors.

The terminal complex includes restaurants and cafés, duty-free shops, mother-and-child rooms, and premium business lounges.

A well-thought-out layout and ergonomic design make waiting for departure and baggage claim exceptionally comfortable.
