Centrum Air Celebrates Successful Inaugural Flight to the Maldives

Centrum Air is pleased to announce the successful completion of its inaugural direct flight from Tashkent to Malé, marking an important milestone in the airline’s expanding international network.

The first flight, operated under flight number C6531, departed Tashkent at 01:35 local time and landed in Malé at 08:05, where the aircraft was greeted with a warm and festive welcome. Airport authorities in Malé, together with ground staff, extended special hospitality to the crew and the first group of passengers arriving on this brand-new route.


Upon arrival, the aircraft was met with a traditional water cannon salute — a symbolic gesture honoring new airlines and new international connections. Passengers were welcomed by airport representatives with flowers, greeting banners, and a dedicated arrival corridor prepared for this special occasion. Many passengers expressed excitement about being part of the first-ever Centrum Air flight to the Maldives.

The inaugural service was operated on the modern Airbus A320neo, offering a comfortable cabin experience for 186 passengers. The flight carried a mix of holidaymakers, families, travel bloggers, and aviation enthusiasts who shared positive feedback about the seamless journey, warm service, and smooth landing in the Maldives.

The return inaugural flight C6532, operating from Malé to Tashkent at 09:20, also departed with strong passenger load, reaffirming the high demand for direct travel between Uzbekistan and the Maldives.

With weekly Sunday flights now in operation, Centrum Air is excited to open a new chapter in its international development, offering travelers from Uzbekistan more access to world-class leisure destinations.

For the comfort and safety of passengers, Centrum Air applies unified carry-on baggage rules for items transported in the aircraft cabin.Each passenger may bring one piece of carry-on baggage on board free of charge, weighing up to 8 kg.The total dimensions must not exceed 115 cm. The recommended size is 55 × 35 × 25 cm. All elements are included in the measurement, such as pockets, handles, and wheels.A special carry-on tag is attached during check-in.At the airport, carry-on items may be checked using a baggage sizer and must fit freely inside it. Additional checks may also be conducted at boarding.On board, carry-on baggage must be placed either under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin. A compact, foldable stroller may be carried instead of standard carry-on baggage.In addition to the main carry-on allowance, passengers may also bring the following items free of charge:• a small backpack, handbag, or laptop bag (up to 30 × 40 × 10 cm)• a blanket• reading materials• baby food• an umbrella or walking cane• one duty-free shopping bagThese items are not included in the measurement of the main carry-on baggage.If your carry-on exceeds the permitted number of items, weight, or dimensions, it must be checked in as registered baggage at the check-in counter. The updated rules apply to domestic routes, including flights to Urgench (Khiva), Nukus, Bukhara, and Termez. Passengers are kindly advised to arrive at the airport in advance to complete all pre-flight procedures comfortably.Centrum Air continues to enhance its operational processes to ensure schedule reliability, passenger comfort, and a high standard of service.

During the recent visit to Pakistan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev specifically highlighted the expansion of direct air links between the two countries. In his address, he emphasized that starting from April this year, Centrum Air will launch scheduled passenger services to Lahore, while My Freighter will commence cargo operations to Karachi.The new routes are aimed at strengthening business, tourism, and logistics ties, as well as enhancing trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.“It is a great honor for us that the projects of Centrum Air and My Freighter are becoming part of the interstate agenda and contributing to the development of regional transport connectivity.We are sincerely proud to be part of the process of strengthening mutually beneficial ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
