Centrum Air launches direct air service between Uzbekistan and Sri LankaTashkent, 28 October 2026. Centrum Air has operated its inaugural flight from Tashkent to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (Hambantota, HRI) in southern Sri Lanka. The flight marks the start of regular direct air service between the two countries.The new route is one of the highlights of the airline's winter schedule and gives travellers from Uzbekistan convenient access to one of South Asia's most popular tropical destinations.The first flight was given a festive welcome. At Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, passengers and crew were greeted by representatives of the airline, the airport and local authorities. The arrivals area was decorated with celebratory banners marking the launch of the new route.The highlight of the ceremony was a celebration cake dedicated to the launch. Passengers on the inaugural flight received commemorative gifts from Centrum Air, and guests noted the importance of the new route for tourism and business ties between the two countries.Flights between Tashkent (TAS) and Hambantota’s Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (HRI) operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 28 October 2026 until the end of March 2027, on comfortable new Airbus A320 family aircraft. Fares start from UZS 4.3 million, and tickets are available at centrum-air.com and in the Centrum Air mobile app (App Store and Google Play), where a 5% discount on the fare applies.Sri Lanka: endless summer in the middle of winterFrom November to April, Sri Lanka's south coast enjoys its dry season, with air temperatures around +30 °C and the ocean warming to +28 °C.
